AI Lead Response Software for Powersports Dealers: What Each Tool Does
AI lead response software for powersports dealers, from each vendor's own pages: channels, AI voice, CRM fit, price, and a demo scorecard to compare them.
Quick answer
AI lead response software for powersports dealers replies to web, text and chat leads in seconds and keeps the shopper engaged until a person takes over. The tools differ on two things: whether the AI talks on the phone, and whether it lives inside your CRM or beside it. Decide both before you compare speed claims.
AI lead response software for powersports dealers answers a new web, text or chat lead within seconds, asks a few questions, and keeps the shopper talking until a salesperson takes over. Several vendors now sell it to powersports stores, and their pages all promise speed. What separates them is less visible: whether the AI also talks on the phone, and whether it works inside your CRM or as a second system beside it.
This guide is for dealer principals, sales managers and BDC leads who are shortlisting tools. It sets out what six products that name powersports say they do, the two decisions that split them, and a scorecard to run in every demo. If you first want to know what an AI lead assistant should and should not do, start with our explainer on AI lead response and the human handoff.
How we compared
Every statement about another vendor comes from that vendor's own public pages, or from Powersports Business coverage, read on 30 October 2026 and linked in the sources. We did not test anyone's software, and this is not a ranking. Where a vendor's page does not state a fact, we say so rather than guess.
PSX Ascend publishes this page and makes one of the products compared.
PSX Ascend sells a powersports CRM with an AI assistant, ALMA, so read the section about us near the end with that in mind. The scorecard works on any vendor, including us.
AI BDC and AI lead response tools that name powersports
Six products name powersports dealers on their own pages or in trade coverage, and they fall into two groups: AI agents you add beside your CRM, and AI built into a CRM. The table is alphabetical, not a ranking, and not a complete list. Several AI BDC products we found are built for car dealers and do not mention powersports on their own pages, so we left them out.
| Product | Kind | What it says about leads | Channels it names | AI on the phone? | Price on the pages we read |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DP360 AI | AI inside a powersports CRM | "One-click AI response drafting"; "Instant, fully automated email responses" | Email, text | Not on the AI page | Not published |
| Ekho AI BDC | AI agent beside or with your systems | "replies in under five seconds, on the website and over text, at any hour" | "Web chat and text, from one inbox" | Not on the page | "Starting at $599 per rooftop / month" (pricing) |
| Kenect | Messaging platform with AI | "instant responses to leads, service requests, and customer questions" | "text, email, and voice" | Lists "Voice AI" | Not published |
| Matador | AI agents on a texting platform | AI Engage: "Speed-to-lead outreach" | "text, voice, and chat" | Lists "Call AI": "Instant call answers" | Not published |
| Traction | CRM with AI | "AI responds to every inquiry in under 60 seconds, 24/7" | Email and SMS campaigns, phone product | Not stated | Not published |
| Traffic Log Pro | AI inside a powersports CRM | "Reply with TLP-AI": "AI-generated suggested replies" | Email, text | Not stated | No additional cost for current dealers (Powersports Business) |
A few details from the same pages help a shortlist:
- Ekho says its agent "books into slots the dealership actually staffs" and offers "Two-way sync with your DMS." Powersports Business reported in September 2026 that National Powersports Distributors is rolling Ekho's AI Sales Agent out across its pre-owned operation.
- Matador lists "Dealer Spike inventory" among "62 integrations" on its powersports page. That page does not name Lightspeed or DX1, so ask about your own systems.
- Kenect lists Powersports, Marine and RV among its industries and promises to "Reach customers 24/7/365 through text, email, and voice."
- Traction says it serves dealers "from motorcycles to marine, RVs to e-bikes" and sells Traction CRM, Traction AI and Traction Phone.
- DP360 offers both a draft a salesperson sends and fully automated email replies, and says salespeople can "jump into any AI conversation at any moment." Our page on DP360 alternatives covers it in more detail.
- Traffic Log Pro launched its AI reply tools on May 18, 2026, according to Powersports Business, inside its email and text messaging.
These are the vendors' own descriptions, not our test of their software.
Should AI answer the phone for your store?
Decide this first, because it splits the market and carries the most risk. Two of the six list an AI voice product (Kenect's Voice AI and Matador's Call AI), while the others describe text, chat and email.
An AI voice is not a legal grey area. In February 2024 the FCC confirmed that AI-generated voices are "artificial" voices under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, so outbound AI calls need the customer's prior express consent, and written consent when the call is telemarketing. Answering a call the customer placed is a different situation from calling them, so ask each vendor which one its product does. Our AI lead response explainer covers the consent and opt-out rules in full. This is general information, not legal advice.
The practical risk is accuracy. A voice agent that misstates a price, a payment or whether a unit is on the floor says it out loud, in your store's name, with no salesperson reading it first. PSX Ascend's position is that AI voice agents are risky for dealership customers today because they can make things up and create more problems than they solve. Other vendors clearly disagree, which is why this is your decision to make, not a feature to accept by default.
What "replies in under 60 seconds" does not tell you
A speed claim measures the first touch, not the moment a person helps the customer. "Under five seconds", "under 60 seconds" and "first-touched in 30 seconds" all time the AI's first message. None of them tells you how long the shopper waits for a salesperson once they are ready to talk about price, trade or a test ride.
That second clock is where stores lose deals. Pied Piper's 2026 powersports study, as reported by Powersports Business, found that more than half of customers received no response within 24 hours. Powersports Business columnist Melissa Coffey put the standard plainly in August 2026: AI-assisted first contact "with a clean handoff to a human once the conversation gets real" is "table stakes." Her advice was to "Pick one pain point," get it working, "measure it, then expand."
So when a vendor quotes a speed, ask for two more numbers from a live store: the median time from the shopper's first reply to a person joining, and the share of handoffs nobody picked up. Our guide to what slow lead response costs a powersports store explains how to time those clocks in your own store.
Add an AI agent or use the AI inside your CRM?
Choose an add-on agent when your CRM works and only first response is failing, and AI inside the CRM when you want one record and one set of rules. Each route has a cost you should see before you sign.
| Question | AI agent beside your CRM | AI inside your CRM |
|---|---|---|
| Where does the conversation live? | In the agent's inbox, synced to the CRM | On the customer record already |
| Who owns the lead when the AI hands off? | Set by routing rules in two systems | Set once, in the CRM |
| What must connect? | CRM, website, inventory feed, maybe DMS | Usually already connected |
| What changes for salespeople? | A second screen or alerts from it | The tool they already use |
| Main risk | Sync gaps: notes, opt-outs or dispositions that do not cross | You are tied to that CRM's AI and its pace |
| Cost to check | A new subscription per rooftop | Whether the AI is included or an add-on tier |
Ask any add-on vendor to show a lead's full history, including an opt-out, arriving in your CRM in real time. Ask any CRM vendor which AI features are in your current plan and which cost extra.
How to compare AI lead response software in a demo
Run the same tests on every vendor, on the same day if you can, and score what you see rather than what the slides say.
- Send five leads written the way your customers write, with model shorthand, a typo and two units in one message.
- Ask about a unit you sold this morning. A good answer says it has sold and offers the closest match.
- Ask "what's my payment?" and "am I approved?" The AI should hand off, not answer.
- Reply "please stop texting me." Then check that every channel stops and that the opt-out reaches your CRM.
- Ask "am I talking to a bot?" It should say yes.
- Ask for a person at 7 p.m. on a weekday, and time how long a real salesperson takes to join.
- Open the customer record afterwards. Every message, both directions, should be there with the AI's answers labeled.
- Ask for a full export of conversations and opt-outs in writing, in case you leave.
Score each vendor side by side:
| Test | Vendor A | Vendor B | Vendor C |
|---|---|---|---|
| Answered the question asked (5 leads) | /5 | /5 | /5 |
| Handled the sold unit honestly | Yes / No | Yes / No | Yes / No |
| Handed off price, payment and credit | Yes / No | Yes / No | Yes / No |
| Opt-out honored in every channel and the CRM | Yes / No | Yes / No | Yes / No |
| Admitted being AI | Yes / No | Yes / No | Yes / No |
| Minutes until a person joined | |||
| Full history on the CRM record | Yes / No | Yes / No | Yes / No |
| Places outbound AI voice calls | Yes / No | Yes / No | Yes / No |
| Written export terms | Yes / No | Yes / No | Yes / No |
Then run a 30-day pilot on one lead source before you switch on every channel. Our explainer lays out the 30-day AI lead response pilot step by step, and our guide to who should handle internet leads at a powersports dealership helps you name the person who owns every handoff.
Where PSX Ascend fits
PSX Ascend builds AI into the CRM and keeps people on the customer conversation, so it belongs in the "AI inside your CRM" group, without an AI voice.
- Associates first. In the AI-powered powersports CRM, associates work each new lead with several quick touches, real-time alerts tell them when a lead arrives, and the conversation runs across phone, text and email while the dealership team stays in control. If a sale does not happen, detailed notes and an accurate disposition are required, and managers are prompted to take a final look at stalled deals.
- ALMA does the chasing. ALMA, the Automated Lead Management Assistant, then takes over the repetitive re-engagement of stalled prospects through the AMP marketing automation platform, with the aim of bringing the customer back to a live conversation with a person.
- No AI voice calls. ALMA does not use AI to call customers, and PSX Ascend has no customer-facing voice agent today. It prompts direct, live connections between the customer and a sales associate.
- Calls on the record. PSX records and tags every inbound call, and outbound calls where state law permits, in the customer record and a manager dashboard.
- Several stores. Our multi-location BDC software routes each opportunity to the right rooftop, team and owner with connected call coverage across locations.
- What to ask us. Run the same scorecard on PSX Ascend, including which DMS and lead sources you use, and hold us to written answers.
